From 1978 until now As stated earlier from 1978 the number system was totally changed , the new system comprised of a letter followed by 5 numbers, the letter indicated what the watch was made from
The first two numbers after the letter signify which Breitling caliber movement has been used for the watch As stated earlier from 1978 the number system was totally changed , the new system comprised of a letter followed by 5 numbers, the letter indicated what the watch was made from, as an example 13 is the cal 13 (valjoux 7750) or 17 is the cal 17 (ETA 2824) or 12 is a cal 12 (lemania 1873 or 1877) The third number states whether the watch is a certified chronometer , this will be 0 if it is not an independently certified chronometer or 3 if it is a certified chronometer also a 4 and 6 has been used which again shows it is not a certified chronometer The last 2 numbers show the model of the watch as an example the A17605 is a steel Breitling shark automatic non chronometer with eta 2824 movement |
